Elena
The newbie Turk, she really looks out of place with her blond mop and a black suit. She's very opinionated and sort of naive. She tries to do the best she can, which is amusing to her superiors.
Lucrecia Crescent
[FF7] Sephiroth's biological mother who fell for Hojo while they were working at the Cetra project. She was forcefully injected with JENOVA cells during gestation. Because of that, she becomes partially immortal. She can't stand the pain, and leaves to a secret cave inside a waterfall to waste away, yearning for her son back.
[DoC] A Shinra Class A scientist specializing in biotechnology. The events given to us by the story are confusing, but we know a few things. Before she joined with Hojo, she worked with Grimoire Valentine (Vincent's father) on discovering Chaos and Omega, based on an ancient Cetran tablet. She blames herself for the accident which likely killed him. They also discovered the protomateria, and the crystalline spring that is supposed to be the birthplace for Chaos. Later, she joins with Hojo and has Vincent Valentine of the Turks assigned to her as a bodyguard. We know that she harbored some affection for Vincent, but ultimately turned away from him to proceed with Hojo's experiement (Sephiroth). Vincent became angry at Hojo, asking why he let this happen (assumably he's talking about taking her son away from her). Hojo shoots him in response, then uses his body to perform experiments on him, creating the monsters that he transforms into. Lucrecia gets control of him and merges Vincent with the Chaos gene to bring him back to life, and also provided him with the Protomateria to control the gene. Vincent sees her in the crystalline spring, but what we're exactly looking at is unknown, since her body "crumbled" long ago (some theorize that her appearance in the waterfall cave was just a reflection of herself). At some point, Lucrecia makes a copy of her brain as a sort of confession to Vincent. Later, Shelke uploads this image into her brain to find Vincent and the Protomateria. She also gains some of her personality as well.

Tifa Lockhart
[FF7] The buxom barkeep of Seventh Heaven has a heart of gold. She always tries to put a silver lining in things. When required, however, she's deadly with her fists. She cares deeply for Cloud, who knew her as a child, and tries to protect him psychologically. Her goal in life is really to help other people. Tifa has become, at least in the online population, the de facto sex symbol for Final Fantasy solely due to her physical dimensions; her personality isn't promiscuous in any way.
[AC] Tifa has spent the past two years in Edge, the city formed slightly outside of Midgar after it was demolished by Meteor. She and Cloud run an orphanage for those whose homes were destroyed by Meteor. To fund this, they also run a delivery service - Tifa takes the orders, Cloud transfers the goods. Tifa's proportions are far more realistic here than in the original.
[DoC] Tifa makes a brief appearance as part of the ground attack on the Midgar reactors, and again in her bar in the ending.
[CC] Tifa appears in her role in FF7 "five years ago" - as a guide for Zack and Sephiroth. She is not in any other major scenes.

Yuffie Kisaragi
[FF7] Although born in the traditional oriental town of Wutai, Yuffie's a twerpy, clueless kind of kid who just happens to be a ninja. She has a spot of kleptomania when it comes to materia, and she'll steal even from friends. She's very disappointed in her father Godo's way of running Wutai; that's why she ran away. Her pinwheels are pretty deadly in battle; she's stronger than she looks!
[AC] Yuffie returns in AC, apparently indolent about Cloud losing "her" materia. Little else is known about her though.
[DoC] Yuffie rescues Vincent twice, and tags along with the WRO several times (she's never awake during Vincent's fights for various reasons, though, so he can't count on her as a party member). She's just as hyper as before, but seems to have toned down the urge to steal stuff.
[CC] Yuffie appears as a ten-year-old, first when Zack infiltrates Fort Tamblin in Wutai, and later in a variety of optional missions, during which she sends anonymous e-mails to Zack with treasure tips, then generally steals the treasure when he's done beating up the monsters. Apparently she got his e-mail address by listening in at AVALANCHE meetings.

Lulu
[FF10] Lulu has apparently made a business of being a guardian for summoners; Yuna's her third pilgrimage, the first being Lady Ginnem, who died, and the second being Father Zuke, who quit. She grew up in Besaid Island (though she seems extremely out of place with the islanders). She was romantically involved with Wakka's brother, Chappu, and after his death became fairly glum; she now rarely smiles. She takes a long time to get used to Tidus because of his resemblance to Chappu. Lulu has a jaded view of the world; she doesn't try to stop people from doing what they want to do, and they leave her the hell alone. She's very knowledgable and is usually the person who explains everything to Tidus. She shares Wakka's optimism in the Yevon church, but her world-weary approach means she's not quite as broken when she sees the truth. In battle, Lulu's the main Black Mage and attacks with cute widdle dolls.
[FFX-2] Lulu marries Wakka, and she's pregnant for the majority of the game (although not visibly so, mainly due to programmer laziness). Eventually she gives birth to a son, Vidina.

Rikku
[FF10] Rikku is the daughter of Cid, leader of the Al Bhed, which makes her first cousins with Yuna (or, as she insists on calling her, "Yunie"). She helps her dad out with his salvage operations and on one of them, searching for the legendary airship, she meets Tidus. She agrees with her father's insistance that the summoners' pilgrimages are bad, but when she tries to capture Yuna, she's thwarted by the five other guardians. After a short talk, though, she allows herself to accompany Yuna and accept her decision about her own life. Rikku is the token high-pitched-hyper-teenager type. She's very idealistic and a bit ditzy, but she can keep a cool head, except in the presence of lightning, which she has an irrational phobia about due to a childhood trauma. In battle she can't do much damage, but she's versatile otherwise, being able to dismantle robotic enemies, steal items, and use special items in battle.
[FFX-2] Wearing even less than before (and sounding even dumber), Rikku now exists almost exclusively for comic relief. She's the one who got Yuna started on the whole sphere hunting thing, though. One thing of note is that she cured her fear of lightning by camping out in the Thunder Plains for a whole week.

Ashelia B'Nargin Dalmasca, Princess
Better known as Ashe, the heroine of FF12's story, Princess Ashe had her uncle Marquis Ondore announce her death of a broken heart after her husband, Rasler, and father, Raminas, were slain by the Archadian Empire. She is a fierce leader, even harder on herself than those she leads, and is cold to the point of solitude. She joins Vossler as part of the resistance against the Empire, going under the name Amalia, in her attack against the Royal Palace during Lord Vayne's fete. She is later captured by Archadia and put aboard the Dreadnought Leviathan. Eventually, she goes with Vaan and the others in her long quest to restore Dalmasca to its former honor. She is almost obsessed with nethicite, seeing its power as the best way to effect that restoration, but is conflicted about whether she wants to use it to actually destroy the Empire, her hatred of the Empire sometimes blinding her. Matters aren't made any better when she discovers that the Occuria are using her to effect their own views about how hume history should go. She eventually decides that using the nethicite is wrong, and destroys the Sun-Cryst, preferring to attack the Empire conventionally and overthrow it, with the help of Larsa, rather than destroy it.
[RW] Ashe joins the party late in the game, but resolves to fight Mydia and Feolthanos to protect the peace of her country. She arrives on the Leviathan with Basch, indicating the new peace between Dalmasca and Archades.

Lightning (Claire Farron)
Lightning, real name Claire Farron, is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy XIII, as well as the narrator and a temporary playable character in Final Fantasy XIII-2. She is to become the protagonist for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
In Final Fantasy XIII, Lightning tries to save her younger sister Serah who was made a l'Cie, only to be turned one herself. In Final Fantasy XIII-2 Lightning serves as a knight protecting the goddess Etro in Valhalla from her fated rival, Caius Ballad. In Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, the world is said to end in thirteen days, and it is up to Lightning to save it.
Lightning is the second female main protagonist in the mainstream Final Fantasy series, the first being Terra Branford from Final Fantasy VI. She is also the second protagonist to wield a gunblade, the first being Squall Leonhart.
Personality
Lightning is determined, concentrated and independent. Initially she is cold and standoffish, distancing herself from her companions. Much of her motivation is fueled from what she perceives as failing to protect Serah and wanting to make things right, which leads her to lash out at those she believes are responsible for that and the subsequent Purge: namely, the Sanctum, its fal'Cie and, to a point, Snow Villiers, due to his relationship with Serah and his failure to protect her as he promised. Lightning's early solution to things that upset her is to distance herself from them, emotionally and physically. There are a few times she attempts to reach out to her companions for help, but refusing to show signs of weakness, she comes across to them as arrogant. Over time Lightning begins to show compassion and trust others, and sees the errors in her approach. Her independent nature during the beginning of Final Fantasy XIII likely originates from her career in the Guardian Corps and having to assume the role of a guardian to her sister at an early age after their parents died.
Although Lightning is annoyed with him at first, she takes Hope Estheim under her wing and shows him the ropes of battle. As she teaches him to look out for himself, she develops a bond with him, and possibly as a result of seeing a bit of herself in him, comes to confide in him and realize the mistakes she had made with Serah. She begins to accept Snow and forgives him when she realizes he, too, cares deeply for Serah. In the end, Lightning becomes the leader and, to some degree, protector of the other Pulse l'Cie as they challenge their fate.

Male Character's
Reno
[FF7] The head of the Turks after Tseng is taken out, he's got an attitude a mile thick. He enjoys a good drink and never does anything beyond what his job requires.
